Google has given an SEO boost to businesses
In the SEO world businesses are always looking for ways to get their website ranked higher on Google overnight and now it looks like there is a way, kind of.
Let me introduce to you, Google My Business, which is a free tool for any business that will help potential local customers find them a lot easier.
I recently added my company to Google My Business around a month ago and already got two customers from the added exposure. Not bad for a free tool.
The way Google My Business works is that you create a profile for your company that includes your hours, website, phone number, email, location, photos, special offers for customers, etc. Once you have the profile created, Google will ask to verify your account which is very easy to do and takes about a week to complete because they have to send you a code through the mail.
Once your business is verified, your website will appear higher in Google’s search engine, which is huge for your SEO. For instance, if someone in my area is searching for nearby web designers, my business along with some others will appear on the first page and possibly at the top of the page.
There are also two ways that people can find you. One is by searching via Google.com and the other is through Google Maps, since your business address is included in your profile.
Google also provides you with analytics, which displays how much exposure you are getting. You will be able to see how many people found you through organic search or Google Maps. As well as how many people visited your website through your profile.
This is essentially Google’s version of Yelp because you can also interact with customers through a messaging systems and they can leave reviews as well.
The greatest part of Google My Business is the added exposure through Google.com and Google Maps, which is a great SEO boost that will help you gain more customers as a company.
