Keyword research plays a big part in people finding your website
There are many reasons why potential customers are having a hard time finding your website on Google. It likely has to do with keyword research. One of the most important things when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is keyword research.
Keyword research is vital because if you don’t target the right keywords on your web pages and blog posts, people won’t find your site.
So you might be asking, well how do I get my site to rank higher for the keywords that will bring people to my website?
The first thing you need to do is brainstorm. Sit down and write down keywords that might pertain to what your website. For example, if you’re an HVAC company, you might wrote down keyword phrases like, “why isn’t my AC cooling on a hot day,” how to change an air filter,” “why my outside unit isn’t running” and so on.
The reason why the phrases I listed above might be good keyword phrases is because these are things that people might be searching for on Google. So some of these phrases might be good topics to write about in your blog.
When it comes to your web pages, you will want to once again do research and optimize your pages so that people will find them by searching on Google. For example, in order to lure people to your “About” page or “Services” page you will need to brainstorm and ponder what keywords are a good fit for those pages and then do some research.
Now, I know you’re also asking, how do I do keyword research? Good question. You will need to utilize online tools like Google Adwords, which will show you stats on how many people per month search for the particular keyword or phrase that you’re thinking about using.
I have to make this clear to you, if you plug in a keyword into Google Adwords and it says that 100 million people search for it every month, that is not good because it’s oversaturated and there are is likely too much content on that particular keyword or phrase and in turn your page or blog post won’t have a chance at moving up the Google ranks.
You also don’t want a keyword or phrase that is only getting a few hundred searches a month because it simply isn’t popular enough to drive in traffic to your site.
This is why it’s important to hire an SEO professional that can help your website rank higher on Google. Contact Paul Jackiewicz today for a free quote.
