WordPress has so many great plugins that are abslutely free.
One of the things that makes WordPress the top content management system on the web is the ability that it gives you have to customize your website by adding on so many different features.
I’ve come up with a list of my favorite free WordPress plugins.
Jetpack
Jetpack is one of my favorite WordPress plugins because of everything that it brings to the table.
There are so many things that Jetpack does that I honestly don’t have time to list them all, but I here are some of my favorites.
- Site Stats – They’re not quite as a accurate as Google Analytics, but they do give you an idea of how much traffic your site is getting.
- Secured logins and two-factor authentication – This makes it much more difficult for hackers to get into your site.
- Brute force attack protection – Just like I mentioned above. A nice security feature.
- Automatic sharing on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Reddit, and WhatsApp – This will save you a lot of time when it comes to sharing your content on social media.
- Comment login with Facebook, Twitter, and Google – Before this feature, people had to register on your site to comment. They can simply use their social media accounts to do so.
Jetpack also gives you numerous add-ons when it comes to your widgets and allows you to show related posts after your articles in order to boost traffic.
You can read all about the perks of using the Jetpack plugin here.
While Jetpack is free there are some extra perks that you can get through their paid plans.
Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP)
I recently came across this Google Analytics plugin and absolutely love it.
The GADWP plugin is extremely easy to configure and gives you some key stats without having to log into your Google Analytics account.
You’re able to get real-time stats that include the number of visitors, acquisition channels and traffic sources details.
You’re also able to view Google Analytics reports right from your WordPress dashboard.
You can read about all of the features of GADWP right here.
UpdraftPlus
Looking for a great WordPress plugin that’s free and will easily back up your website as well as your database?
UpdraftPlus is that plugin.
You can easily back up your site to Google Drive, Drop Box, FTP, Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud, Openstack Swift, Updraft Vault and email.
UpdraftPlus also has a premium service that offers you other options for your back ups. Check them out here.
Yoast SEO
I’m sure everyone has heard of the Yoast SEO WordPress plugin. It’s by far the most popular SEO plugin on the market.
The great thing is that this plugin is free.
I’ve tested a few other WordPress SEO plugins and they didn’t help boost my website’s exposure the way Yoast does.
While Yoast offers a paid premium version that allows you to add more than one keyword, you can get by with the free version.
MailMunch
MailMunch makes it extremely easy for you to grow your email subscriber list.
MailMunch easily integrates with some of the top companies like MailChimp, Constant Contact, AWeber, Campaign Monitor, GetResponse, InfusionSoft and many others.
This plugin is not only free but it gives you many different options that allow you to customize.
MailMunch also allows you to view analytics that can help you change up your strategy as you work on growing your list.
